White Salmon Backyard Half Marathon & 4 Mile

Come enjoy the scenic vistas and gorgeous trails on the hills above White Salmon.

The gun goes off at 9:00 am for both the 4 mile and half marathon race.

This event is a fundraiser for our White Salmon Cross Country Boosters and the Columbia Gorge Running Club Student Scholarship Fund. We suggest a donation of $35 or more. Booster Club funds help the Columbia High School Cross Country team go to running camp, compete in an amazing races around the Northwest, purchase shoes for runners in financial need, and much more! The CGRC scholarship helps high school runners continue their goals beyond high school. Additional donations and donations less than $35 will be available at the race.

REGISTRATION/START/FINISH:
Registration and the Start/Finish will be at Rheingarten Park at N. Main Ave and NW Lincoln St.

7:00 am check-in and day of registration opens.

8:55 am is the pre-run meeting at the start line, which will be on Washington St. and N Main Ave.

Both the 1/2 Marathon and the 4 Mile Race begin at the same time and place!
If you drop out please check in at the finish line so we know you are safe!

COURSE:
The course involves a challenging climb and descent with gorgeous views of the Columbia River. The course will be marked with flour and orange surveyors tape.

The trail portion of the 1/2 Marathon course is about 12.3 miles and is a big lollipop.

The trail portion of the 4 mile course is about 2.5 miles and is a small loop on hilly terrain with gorgeous views!

The road portion of the course is around a mile each way, to get you to and from the trail. The road portion of both races starts at the corner of NW Washington St and N Main Ave. Head east on Washington St then south on Snohomish until you reach Tohomish St. You will follow this until its end and take a hard left onto Park ave. From there you will drop into the trail system. You will be returning from another trail right back onto Tohomish and head back west to Rhinegarten Park via the same route you took out.

No dogs are allowed.

There will be 3 aid stations and an additional “light” aid station with 3 miles left in the race. The first full aid station is about 30 to 40 minutes from the start depending on how quick you are. Make sure to bring a water bottle. Especially if it is hot!
