Join us for a special evening of songwriters sharing songs and the stories behind them! This month features Richard Tillinghast, Kyle J. Glenn, Shelby Natasha, and Leo Moon
RICHARD TILLINGHAST
A Richard Tillinghast show involves thoughtful song writing, deft guitar and banjo work, and usually a healthy dose of off-beat humor. “Through the years, he has quietly built a reputation for warm, welcoming shows…his music is a deep, healing well.” (Edge Magazine, SC)
“He’s been blessed with a unique voice…compared to everybody from Eddie Vedder to James Taylor. For us, it’s a mixture of John Prine and John Stewart…an excellent performer throughout…a poet’s ear and economy of expression, with a sweet spot for the telling phrase.”
(Rodger Nichols, The Dalles Chronicle, OR).
“He is a poet; he has traveled America and abroad, with his senses open and attuned and has distilled many thoughts, impressions and feelings into a beautiful, restless volume of verse in song.”
(Dave Horner, Creative Loafing, SC).
KYLE J. GLENN
Kyle J. Glenn (he/him) is a singer-songwriter from Portland, Oregon, who has been writing and performing his own songs since 2014. His music blends indie folk, folk rock, alt-country, and singer-songwriter traditions, and his latest record, *Everywhere is Close to Somewhere Else*, reflects a decade-long journey to find “home.” Inspired by artists like Gillian Welch, John Prine, and Big Thief, Kyle’s story-driven songs have earned him features on Kink FM 102’s Homegrown Discovery and performances at venues across the U.S., Spain, and Portugal. After returning to Portland in 2023, Kyle is assembling a band to bring his new album to life.
SHELBY NATASHA
Shelby Natasha is a songwriter and music producer in Seattle, Washington. Heavily influenced by her upbringing living between China and the Pacific Northwest, her music is a blend of alt-rnb and Chinese folk music. Her ghost-like vocals are performed alongside the traditional Chinese instrument, Guzheng, layered on top lofi beats.
LEO MOON
Leo Moon is the solo incarnation of singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist, Brian Adrian Koch.
California born and Oregon raised, Brian has been active in the Portland music scene since arriving in 2000. He is a current and founding member of indie rock band Blitzen Trapper (2000-present) and psychedelic folk duo Dead Lee (2018-2023)
Appearing now as a solo acoustic performer, his minimal and haunting tunes are stripped down paeans to the glorious absurdities of life; harmonica spattered psalms to the void.
