SEA CAVES
In late 2019, Sea Caves released Across the Water and received glowing reviews and a dedicated fanbase in the Pacific Northwest. As momentum was building and they were set to embark on a West Coast tour, the pandemic brought a quick halt to their plans. During this time, as some relations frayed and others grew, Sydney Rohrs and Shiloh Halsey kept meeting at the park and writing songs, and a new album began to take shape. The result is a set of heartfelt songs colored with rich instrumentation, lush harmonies, and catchy melodies, all interwoven with Rohrs’ dreamy vocals and themes exploring the disconnection from community and family and the longing for things past and yet to be known.
The intricate guitar lines, dynamic bass playing, looping flutes, and soaring melodies we’ve come to know from Sea Caves shine through on the album as does the always engaging drum work of Cameron Jones (formerly of Pinback and Physics). Behind the scenes, the production team includes Cameron, Shiloh, and Mike Cresswell, a Latin Grammy Award-winning and Grammy-nominated mixer, engineer, and producer known for his work with a diverse range of artists including Sun Kil Moon, Mike Patton, Céu, Blackalicious, and Lyrics Born. Sea Caves is rounded out by Jason Crowgey on bass and guest musicians from the Portland area.
At its heart, Sea Caves is a collaboration. “We all bring something to this work,” Shiloh explains, “whether it’s me bringing the basic framework of a song, Sydney bringing a notebook of lyrics and ideas, Jason relaying new rhythms, or Cameron lifting the mood through harmony, it all gets bounced through the Sea Caves universe and comes out as something far different from what was put in.”
It’s this partnership that creates the sound of Sea Caves, where distinct atmospheres and the dichotomies of raw exposure and layered intensity combine to make something truly unique.
LINCOLN CROCKETT
Lincoln Crockett has been dedicated to his craft for many years, residing in the serene and picturesque Trout Lake, WA. A versatile multi-instrumentalist and gifted songwriter, Crockett expertly plays the mandolin and guitar, blending fast picking, earthy rhythms, sweet melodies, and lush chords. His unique style of modern folk and progressive bluegrass showcases remarkable musicality, wry humor, and a spiritual flavor that transcends traditions.
In the early 2000s, Crockett found success with the popular Pacific Northwest string band Cross-eyed Rosie. This success propelled him into several years of full-time, DIY regional touring as a solo artist. However, the relentless intensity of travel and performance led to burnout, prompting a period of deep soul-searching. This journey brought him to a full-time practice in energy healing, while his musical performances became more selective.
Crockett occasionally performs with the avant old-time band The Sappy Fir Cones, based in Trout Lake, and also collaborates in an acoustic power trio with Cascadian farmer, songwriter, and guitar virtuoso Nathaniel Talbot. He hosts a monthly open mic and songwriter songshare at the historic Trout Lake Hall and contributes as staff member at the epic Sisters Folk Fest Songcamp. His solo performances are a rare and fun experience for both him and his audiences. His live sets feature a mix of new and old songs and stories, and his stunning album *Angels & Devils Alike* is available for streaming on all major platforms.
