Lifecasting Workshop with Peny Wallace – 2-Day Workshop

October 12 @ 12:00 pm

Schedule: October 12 from 12-5pm & October 13 from 12-3pm

Ages: 14 years and up, with a desire to learn

Capacity (min/max): 6 students minimum / 6 students maximum

Description:

Lifecasting works with alginate, a natural seaweed-based substance, and captures details of the human form.

Participants will work with class partners and learn the basics of lifecasting, using either two hands or a hand and a face in a pose. We will take impressions using alginate on one partner until it sets. Then, the impression will be removed, the model will be released, and the casting medium will be mixed and poured into a ‘mother mold’ casting. The casting will semi-harden overnight and the second day the ‘mother mold’ will be taken off and ‘edited’ to complete the final casting. Participants will take home their casting and finish when completely dry. A ‘finishing’ materials and instruction list will be handed out as well as tools to take home for finishing.

Cost: $120 plus $40 supply fee. Total $160

Preparation:

No experience required. All materials as well as tools for finishing at home will be provided. Please bring:
