In this Leather-Craft Class we will explore a brief overview and acknowledgment of the origin of leather & its ancestral relationship, an introduction to various leather tools & crafting techniques, and the process of hand-creating personalized leather items from conceptualization to finished craft. Leather creations will include your choice of: stamping, stitching, carving and designing patterns for bracelets, bookmarks and deerskin pouches. All leather and materials will be provided!

Madison Hayashi is a local business owner, mother and 3rd generation Japanese-American woman dedicated to creating various mediums of original artwork in leather-working, poetry and Japanese sumi-ink painting. Self-taught for nearly a decade, she weaves the intricacies of all three into unique pieces of work. Exploring and honoring the ancient ways of life within, everything Madison creates is inspired by nature and mindfully crafted without modern machinery: truly made by hand.
