Lace Needle Tatting: The lost art of making life beautiful
March 23 @ 1:00 pm
Tatted lace can be made with a shuttle or a long needle. In this class, you will learn the basic techniques of needle tatting and unlock the creativity and genteel art of lace within you. Tatting was a social activity in the 19th and 20th century and this class will continue that tradition. Supplies will be provided.
About the instructor, Louise Palermo: “I’ve always been interested in the many types of lace-making in this world. I discovered my grandmother, whom I never met, was a wonderful needle lace tatter and I was curious about how she made the beautiful doilies and trims on our chairs and aprons when I was a child. It took me until this year to learn how, and I’ll never stop sharing this amazing activity with anyone who will tat with me!”
