GARDENING 101: TOMATO CARE
Come learn how to maintain healthy tomato plants! Tomatoes can be tricky to grow in the Pacific Northwest because of our cooler climate and limited daylight hours, especially as tomatoes are just hitting their peak. But there are ways to maintain tomatoes during the season that will give us a big harvest. Come learn ways to prune, trellis, and fertilize tomatoes.
Rachel comes from a lifetime of loving the garden from her experience on her family’s small farm growing up, a degree in agricultural entomology, work as a community-based educator in gardening and farming, as well as the almost half acre garden that she maintains now. Rachel comes with a varied interest in plants from their medicinal uses, healthy and nutritious foods, and even the encouragement of beneficial insects to manage pests in the garden.
