Come listen to The Sappy Fir Cones
May 3 @ 6:00 pm
The Sappy Fir Cones puts a twist on trad-style stringband music and folkcountry songs they call ‘avant old time’ or ‘chill grass’. The band started in living room and backyard jams amongst neighbors raising their kids in tiny, rural Trout Lake, WA. The rotating core crew of pickers and singers pulls notes from a deep pool featuring a Berklee School of Music grad, a West Virginia-born Old-Time fiddler, a professional singer/songwriter & energy healer, a Portland State University music grad, and a former rock bass player turned cheesemaker amongst others. This Gorge-grown band never travels and has no web presence so if you’re reading this THIS is your chance to catch their danceable and hypnotic old-school spontaneity.
