Learn about Buddhism and begin on a path to reduce suffering. You’ll learn how to reduce stress, cravings, anger, a busy mind, etc. that rob you of a peaceful life. We will learn about Siddhartha Gautama, the historical Buddha, and about his quest to learn how to end suffering (better translated as dissatisfaction). We will practice 3 forms of meditation, metta (loving kindness) and gratitude. And most importantly, we will learn how to incorporate Buddhist practice into your life for a long-term journey that leads to a more peaceful, compassionate life. Field trips and Zoom mediation sessions are available to the class to continue your practice. Your instructor, Rev. Scott (Minh Tự), is an ordained Buddhist Minister who brings much humor into the Buddhist practice. If you already have a faith, that’s great. Buddhist practice can help enrich your existing faith. There is no conflict.
