At Riverside Community Church, Hood River: From young voices to jazz to Bach organ classics, this year’s Advent Concert Series at Riverside brings home all the joys of Christmas music.
The free concerts are on Fridays at Noon, Dec. 6, 13, and 20, in the Riverside church sanctuary. The concerts behind the big purple doors of the historic church are a 51-year tradition at Riverside. The sanctuary will be full of greenery and candles, and the restored pipe organ and grand piano will be center stage.
Tim Mayer & Friends take the stage on Friday, December 20. The group performs an eclectic mix of holiday standards and originals, and is a perennial favorite of the Advent concert series. This year he will be joined by Mike Grodner on drums, Dave Henehan on guitar, Donna Henderson on vocals, and Bill Athens on bass. Tim plays piano and directs the band.
