Advent Concert Series #2

At Riverside Community Church, Hood River: From young voices to jazz to Bach organ classics, this year’s Advent Concert Series at Riverside brings home all the joys of Christmas music.

The free concerts are on Fridays at Noon, Dec. 6, 13, and 20, in the Riverside church sanctuary. The concerts behind the big purple doors of the historic church are a 51-year tradition at Riverside. The sanctuary will be full of greenery and candles, and the restored pipe organ and grand piano will be center stage.

Organist Dr. Paul Klemme will perform December 13, featuring music of the season by Johann Sebastian Bach, Dietrich Buxtehude and Paul Manz. Klemme serves as Director of Music Ministries and parish organist at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Salem, Oregon. He is a member of the  adjunct teaching faculty at Willamette University and conducts the Willamette Master Chorus of Salem.  He is an active organ recitalist in the United States and Europe. This is his second appearance at Riverside. He performed for the dedication of the restored pipe organ in 2023.
