Spend the day hiking to and through one of Mt Hood’s alpine meadows. While wildflower hikes are common in spring at lower elevations throughout Oregon, wildflowers such as lupine, monkey flower, yarrow, and red columbine bloom through July and early August at higher elevations. This class will focus on wildflower identification. Students can expect to learn about flower parts, to identify plant families through flower characteristics, and to practice identifying flowers.

This workshop is open to all adults 16yrs & over, who are prepared to hike all morning (rain or shine) on an uneven trail. This is not a suitable workshop for those with health conditions that may be triggered by hiking, carrying a backpack, or being outside for 5+ hours in variable weather conditions and on dirt trails. Please leave dogs at home. No previous experience necessary.
