Art Students: 11-14 years old
Maximum Students: 15
The Night Forest Collaborative Mixed-Media Installation
Instructed by Audrey Bernhardt & Rene Westbrook
Working as a creative team under the direction of workshop teachers/artists, kids will establish a them for a site-specific, mixed-media, large-scale art installation project! In this fun, energetic, hands-on workshop, students will explore a variety of processes including painting, drawing, and sculpture. The one-week process stresses exploration, collaboration, and fun, and culminates in a First Friday opening reception for the young artists.
All students will have the opportunity to work collaboratively as well as create their own individual installation components, which they will take home after the exhibit closes. The instructors are two studio artist, art educators, Rene & Audrey.
Please note that this is a scholarship-based, one-week arts education workshop that is fully supported by HR Elks & Elks National Foundation through the Gratitude Grant.
If your child is interested, please follow the Eventbrite link to reserve your spot. Notice that there is a small $10 fee to reserve your spot, and that all of that money will go directly back into a special surprise for the students on the last day of class.
Students need to attend each day of the workshop and be available for the First Friday reception unless prior arrangements are made. Parents should arrange for students to bring their own snacks and lunch.
