Charlie Porter is an internationally acclaimed and Grammy Award-winning trumpeter and composer who broke into the New York jazz scene in the late ’90s while simultaneously studying classical trumpet at Juilliard under the tutelage of Wynton Marsalis. Having since delved into projects from jazz and classical to Arabic, Indian, African, Australian Aboriginal and Korean music, Porter finds what is common in all ‘good music’ to avoid the pigeonholes of genre.
