Gorge Fruit and Craft Fair at Hood River County Fairgrounds, October 19-20, 10am to 5pm / admission and parking are free.
Are you dreaming of fall colors and bountiful harvests of delicious local apples and pears? Join us as we celebrate all the joys of a new Fall season at the Gorge Fruit and Craft Fair at Hood River County Fairgrounds. Last year’s special guest, Society for Creative Anachronism (SCA), returns with special displays of various medieval reproductions of clothing, cooking, household items and traditional tools, archery, fencing and more from the pre-17th century time period. They’ll also conduct hatchet throwing demonstrations in the park.
Not only will you have the chance to taste-test Columbia Gorge apples and pears, but you’ll find an array of vendors with specialized crafts and gifts for everyone. Visit Odell Garden Club’s annual autumn flower show and sale, which will be held in the Floral building each day. Hood River Art Club will exhibit their large gallery-style show and sale. Enjoy local gourmet food products, flowers, baked goods, jewelry, arts and crafts, custom furniture and more. All items are grown, made, or crafted in the four counties in Oregon and Washington that make up the central Columbia River Gorge.
This family friendly event hosts plenty of other fun activities you won’t want to miss. FFA club members will be serving delicious BBQ outside. In addition, the fair kitchen will be serving food favorites. Head on down to the fairgrounds arena, and check out the popular Ranch Sorting competition, a timed event where two riders work together to herd designated cattle into the pen (clinic begins at 9am, competition is at 1pm).
