Fresh Pasta Making Class with Cookbook Author in Florence

Love fresh pasta? Miss Italy? Come make fresh pasta with a cookbook author, sommelier and culinary journalist in Florence- virtually!

Curious Appetite is proud to offer a carb-friendly Fresh Pasta Series with one of our cooking class instructors in Florence, Patrizia Cantini. You can sign up for one pasta class or all 4 Sunday classes and become a true stuffed pasta master by the end!
Each scheduled fresh pasta making class topic are ravioli-centric and will be pulled from Patrizia’s cookbook based on passed down family recipes. Join us in the Italian Sunday tradition of making fresh pasta 100% from scratch!
All online pasta classes will be held Sundays at 9am West Coast time/12pm East Coast time with a max capacity of 6 participants. If you’d like to buy out the class for your friends and/or families or as part of a company event, please e-mail us to arrange booking(at)curiousappetitetravel(dot)com
Dates and Themes are as followed:
Sunday November 22nd: Squash (Zucca) Filled Ravioli
Sunday November 29th: Pear and Sheep Milk Pecorino Ravioli
Sunday December 6th: Spinach and Ricotta Ravioli
Sunday December 13th: Mortadella and Pistachio Ravioli
Each lesson lasts 1.5 hours with time to interactively ask qs and evaluate progress.
This experience is a hands-on culinary adventure with one of the Florence’s most genuine gastronomic experts who is engaging and extremely down to earth.
Upon booking, you’ll be provided with easy-to-follow recipes upon booking and a full ingredient/tool list.
To give you an idea of the ingredients and tools you’ll need:
“00” Flour, good eggs, Italian cheeses like ricotta and pecorino romano, a pasta maker (manual or automatic attachment), rolling pin, ravioli cutter (but a sharp knife can do in its place) wooden board, etc. A full list of tools and recipes will be provided as well as alternative tools and ingredients in case you can’t locate those specified.
We’ll get our aprons on, get messy, sip prosecco (or wine/beverage of choice) and have fun while cooking together- virtually
More about your instructor: Patrizia was born & raised in Florence and is true culinary expert. Not only a cookbook author but also a sommelier and food & wine travel journalist for various Italian magazines and newspapers. Patrizia has been conducting in-person private cooking classes with Curious Appetite in Florence since 2015.
Apart from her expertise in Florentine/Tuscan cuisine, she is also well-versed in the Emilian cuisine of the Emilia-Romagna as her mother hailed from the Emilia-Romagna, the region home of egg-based pastas like tagliatelle and ravioli. Her book covers Florentine, Tuscan and Emilia-Romagna cuisine so you’ll have the exclusive experience to learn these recipes directly from Patrizia on this online cooking class!
HOW IT WORKS: This JOIN-IN online session is scheduled every Sunday 9am PST/12pm ET (6pm Italy time). If the time works in your end of the world- you’re invited! Tickets must be purchased in advance and is open to join-in participants of up to 6. This online cooking class will be conducted via Zoom.
