Join local mycologist Michael Beug to learn about the vast communities of fungi in the Gifford Pinchot National Forest and Pacific Northwest. A former Evergreen State College professor and author of award-winning book, “Ascomycete Fungi of North America: A Mushroom Reference Guide”, Michael will share his knowledge of edible and inedible mushrooms alike, tips for identification, and more. The lecture will last from 9-11 am followed by a mushroom forage in the forest afterwards (participants should bring a sack lunch).
All ages welcome! No experience in mushroom foraging necessary.
The cost for the workshop is $30 per person, including materials. All proceeds from our Community Workshops go towards scholarships for our Cascade Mountain School program.
