Join us for the inaugural Beargrass Beatdown Mountain Bike Overnighter.
The official travel bike weekend is post-oned until sep 25-27 but we are able to still ride in a small group and maintain social distancing.
The ride will begin Saturday morning at 8AM at Beargrass Bicycles in Hood River. After a few miles of pavement, we will enter the Post Canyon mountain bike trail system. From there, it is approximately 20 miles and 5000 feet of climbing on a mix of single track and old forest roads. We will plan on camping high above the Columbia River Gorge, near Whatum Lake, enjoying views of Mount Hood, Mount Adams and other high peaks of the Cascade Range as we refresh ourselves with local libations and campfire treats. While Saturday’s ride consist mostly of climbing, Sunday, we will be rewarded with 5000 feet of awesome single track descending.
Riders are responsible for their own bike and camping/sleeping setup, and snacks. Beargrass Bicycles will provide Dinner/Breakfast, Beer, and additional water at the camping location.
As we will be riding mostly technical single track, mountain bikes with knobby tires are recommended.
Stop into the shop or contact Beargrass Bicycles for more information and details. This ride is open to the public, but space is limited.
