Join us for this four-part series that will give Young Adults (15-24) the opportunity to gain knowledge in the areas of Finance, Relationships, Voting and Healthy Lifestyles. Guest speakers and materials will give participants insights and information on how to have a successful transition to adulthood. A light dinner will be provided.
This series will be held on four consecutive Tuesdays. Attend one or all!
Tuesday, October 29, 6-8 pm – Finances/Money Management & Renting
Tuesday, November 5, 6-8 pm – Relationships: Learn how to be a decent friend, roommate, and significant other, how to set boundaries and how to be a “keeper.” This session will be held at Goldendale Community Library.
Tuesday, November 12, 6-8 pm – Voting: Learn how to vote and how to be an informed voter. This session will feature a panel Q&A with Klickitat County Auditor Brenda Sorenson, other elected officials and representatives from political parties. This session will be held at Goldendale Grange, 228 E Darland St. This panel session is open to community members to view. However, the questions will be collected from local students and session participations. Youth participants are encouraged to arrive on the 12th at 5:30 pm for dinner before the session begins.
Tuesday, November 19, 6-8 pm – Nutrition and Self-Care: Learn how to shop and cook for yourself, the basics of personal and home hygiene, and alternative ways to feel “high” without drugs or alcohol. This session will be held at Goldendale Community Library.
The program is being financially sponsored by Friends of Goldendale Community Library with in-kind support from the Goldendale Grange, Klickitat County 4-H Leaders Council, Klickitat Valley Health, Uncle Tony’s Pizza and Subway.
The series is free and open to young people ages 15 and up to the age of 24. Current goldendale high school students who attend one or all of the sessions should speak with their school counselor about gaining credit for participating.
