Making a Mala with Intention

A mala is a strand of beads, like a rosary, traditionally used for counting during mantra meditations. Malas commonly consist of 108 beads and have been used since at least the 10th century as a meditation aid. They allow us to focus the mind on a single pointed task as we work through meditation.

Celebrate the New Year with intention combined with a mala making workshop. Make a mala as unique and wonderful as as you from a choice of beautiful semi-precious stone beads. Infuse your mala with your intention for 2019. As we thread and knot each bead in place that intention will also be set not only in your necklace but deeper and more clearly in your consciousness. Immerse yourself in making and balance your energy with this meditative exercise of beading and knotting.

We will begin with a guided meditation to find your personal intention, We will take the last 5-10 of class to learn how to meditate with your mala.

All supplies to create your mala are provided.
