Lounge on Fire is an independent alternative rock band formed in Boise, Idaho in 2013. Often described as “sexadelic freak funk”, the sound draws on an eclectic blend of influences that blur the lines between rock, soul, jazz, latin, disco, hip hop, and funk. Rapid and percussive vocals often combine with dark, seductive grooves and a boisterous fanfare of wind instruments to create a unique fusion that fans of Modest Mouse, Gogol Bordello, and Cake would enjoy.
The seven-piece group consists of Nathan Norton on guitar and vocals, Josh Gilmore on bass guitar, Wade Ronsse on drums, Alan Schwaderer on keyboards and guitar, Matt Patterson on saxophone, Seth Hoffman on trumpet, and Kevan Ash on trombone. Lounge on Fire has been noted for their energetic live performances, often featuring a synchronized warddrobe that situationally varies from 70’s disco-funk to prom night attire to Christmas costumes, signature dance moves that encourage audience gyration, and the horn section running into the crowd to give an intimate experience to showgoers.
