“Yoga is not an ancient myth buried in oblivion. It is the most valuable inheritance of the present. It is the essential need of today and the culture of tomorrow.” – Swami Satyananda Saraswati

This weekend immersion, with Timo Jimenez, includes:

  • Exploring a Self Practice if you do not have one & are interested in establishing one
  • Deepening and evolving your practice if one is already in place
  • Exploring some of the common obstacles that may periodically arise for both new and seasoned practitioners
  • Keys to sustainability in the Art of Self Practice
  • The importance of private practice sessions on a regular basis
  • Decompression versus transformation
  • The teacher student relationshipAbout Timo Jimenez:
“Teach as the practice applies to the individual, as opposed to adapting the individual to the practice.”
  • Timo’s approach combines detailed alignment with an exploration into the progressive levels of Yoga as Self Transformation. This includes, but is not limited to, deep Yogic concentration, articulated breath control, the purpose of “alignment” on the physical level, and intelligent modifications of the practice. He is sensitive to the student’s individual needs and well versed in the application of Yoga asana as a healing modality. He emphasizes the need for each student to begin from a stable base, from which the deeper psycho- physiology can be explored and a sustainable lifetime practice can be cultivated.Initiated into Yoga at age 4 by his father, Timo has amassed more than 10,000 hours of traditional training and studied with some of the world’s leading traditional teachers. He brings to his teaching an active relationship with the Classical systems of Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga (Up to the 4th series); the Advanced Therapeutics of Iyenger Yoga; Martial Arts; and the Essence of Traditional Zen Buddhism, in addition to healing arts (Craniosacral and Reiki Therapies and Deep Tissue Massage). He is also a professional chef. Timo was founder of Yoga Pada Yoga School in Portland, OR, where he trained teachers and students for 12 years.$235 (sliding scale available if needed)
