Instructed by Audrey Mae
Ages 9-13 years
Day of the Dead is a Mexican holiday celebrated throughout Mexico, in particular the Central and South regions, and by people of Mexican ancestry living in other places, especially the United States. It is acknowledged internationally in many other cultures. The multi-day holiday focuses on gatherings of family and friends to pray for and remember friends and family members who have died, and help support their spiritual journey. As part of our Latino Arts & Culture month, artist Audrey Bernhardt will teach students how to create still life paintings of beautiful Day of the Dead objects created by other artists. These 2-D paintings will be a gorgeous memento for students to take home.
Space is limited to 12 students and registration closes September 11, 2017 at 5pm.
