MID-COLUMBIA COMMUNITY CONCERT ASSOCIATION PRESENTS CHRISTOPHER HALL AND THE COMIC QUARTET, MONDAY NOV. 5 AT THE DALLES CIVIC AUDITORIUM.
October 16, 2018 – Mid-Columbia Community Concert Association is delighted to present Christopher Hall and the Comic Quartet at The Dalles Civic Auditorium on Nov. 5, 2018, starting at 7:00 pm. Christopher Hall is the former principal clarinet of the Orchestre Métropolitain in Montréal (Yannick Nézet-Seguin) who found work in the orchestra far too serious! So now, instead of joking around while sitting in the orchestra, he performs as a standup comedian and does various television and radio shows in both English and French.
Accompanied by a string quartet, Christopher Hall (clarinet) delights people with beautiful music while making them laugh! This irresistible group of musicians promises to fill your ears and heart with their joie de vivre and their beautiful music making. Between each performance, Christopher Hall turns into a stand-up comic and makes fun of the musicians, the music and especially the rituals surrounding the performance of classical music we have grown to live with, and all this just to remind the public that classical music is for everyone!
With the attitude: “Everything you’ve always wanted to know about the orchestra but were afraid to ask”, Christopher Hall will be your guide into the mysteries of the symphony orchestra. He is delighted to answer all the audience’s existential questions, such as:
– “What exactly is a musician thinking while he is playing?”
– “What’s the difference between contemporary music and a migraine?”
And THE killer question:
– “Do you really even need a conductor?”…
Novices and music lovers alike will enjoy the magical mix of music and fun!
The Civic Auditorium Club 22 will host a social hour from 6-7 in the community room, there will be beverages for purchase & snacks.
Tickets are on sale at Klindt’s Booksellers, Lines of Designs, and online at mccca.info.
