Did you know that it was illegal to build and fly your own aircraft in the US until 1952? Did you know that Oregon aviators paved the way, and fought diligently for the experimental regulations that we have today?
Join Cassandra Washburn from the Oregon Aviation Historical Society for a presentation on this and so much more! This presentation includes videos with interviews from aviators who flew from Bernard’s field in the 1930’s, telling what it was like to fight with the feds… there will also be information on some of the more recent acquisitions at OAHS such as the RV3 and the Story Special #1 and 2 which had tremendous impact in experimental aviation history, all from right here in Oregon!
Presentations will be at 10AM & 12PM
This presentation will be hosted at WAAAM’s January second Saturday and is sponsored in part by the Oregon Department of Aviation!
Hope to see you there!!
